Here's a useless random update to my site... I hadn't really done anything since I've arrived back in Hawaii so I thought I'd add some news :)

I've been adding a lot of new photos to my deviant art website (http://syron.deviantart.com)  and they're doing pretty well :) I think they're pretty cool. I've also been commenting and stuff on other people's art that I think is pretty cool and I've added a few of their work to my favorites list.

OK I'm not too sure what else to write so I'll end it here :)

I know I said I'd post while away in California but to be honest I didn't have the time :P I've been hanging out with my cousins... Teaching one of them basic kendo skills and just hanging out in general with the others. Lots of fun :) and now I have returned!$!!!$

New things I got!

So other news... Well there isn't much really. I've been getting well into my photography and that's fun... I really enjoy it :) and I've been walking around Waikiki taking photos of the beach and sea and everything. Today I'm going to walk around some more... It's good exercise and I get to take pics of things! :D I promised my friend some architecture photos so I'll see what I can do. If anyone has any requests please email me with the link at the top right of this box.

I'm currently really tired cos my dad woke me up asking for some spare change :P but its ok cos I got to talk to somebody for a lil bit which cheered me up :)

OH YEAH! I hope you are enjoying my webcam :D my digital camera is acting up when it comes to webcam live feed capture stuff (it did it fine back at my cousins house...) and so all images seen on the webcam are from my video capture card... You get to watch the Japanese channel :D Now the problem with my camera is that the install CD snapped.... It was in my camera case and it snapped... Gah! So anyhooz I went to FujiFilm site and downloaded drivers... I'm not sure if they're just the upload pics drivers or if they do both. So anyways I downloaded the driver and installed it but it still doesn't pick up my cam as a webcam when I set it to do that. Which annoys me. So yeah I contacted FujiFilm to see what they can send me and I'm just waiting for a reply now.

OK that's all I can think of at the moment for an update... More will come though :)

OK! Alli's heading off back to New Zealand in a few hours and then tomorrow I'm heading off to Santa Rosa to spend Christmas with the other half of my family :). I haven't seen them all for a long time so it'll be great! I still plan on meeting up with my buddies and getting well drunk :D

Important news? Well Saddam Hussein or however ya spell it (I'm not actively going to look for a correct spelling for such a moron so there) has been captured.... The little gimp was hiding in a hole... HIDING in a hole.... THE PRESIDENT OF IRAQ was HIDING in a hole. What a wussie. After all these stories of how many people he's had killed and all that shit you'd have thought he'd have the balls to go out with a fight like he had some shred of honour... BUT NO! He meekly called out "Don't shoot! I'm the President of Iraq!". I found that kinda funny. Now my latest annoyance of this whole situation is one of the high ranking US Military officials... He says "I won't support a punishment of the death penalty for Saddam...". You know, like he actually has a say in the matter. THE PEOPLE OF IRAQ HAVE THE RIGHT TO DO WHATEVER THE HELL THEY WANT TO THE FREAK WHO OPPRESSED THEM. Nobody else. The United States of America is exactly that... America... NOT Iraq. And seeing that the trial will be conducted in Iraq and by Iraq's own people, they have every right to do as their culture calls for. Don't they cut the hands off thieves? Don't they stone murderers to death? (that and cheating wives :P) So let them do as their culture calls for. Firing squad :D.

OK enough of my little rant... Yes I know I'm very opinionated but I have some sense of education and so therefore I must have some intelligence and I easily get pissed off at people who let opportunities slip by them and here's a damn good opportunity to rid the world of a nasty dictator. If he isn't whacked then there's always a change that he'll get out and be put back into power somehow... Maybe some terrorists will spring him? Maybe he'll set up communications and work like that? Many possibilities, one solution. But yes this is just my opinion.

So now what else to I need to talk about? Not much really... Lots of fun... More Kendo practice... My birthday was on the 11th and I'm now 22 years old... Damn I'm Old :P. BUT I got a really great birthday present from somebody special and it really made my day SO it wasn't all bad :P

Oh yeah, before I head off I'd like to pimp some things and explain some things.
Firstly I know I haven't been updating the rest of the site much such as the link boxes and webcam and all that. I DO plan on updating like hell but first I'll be building a small comp to use as a server. Now that I have cable I can host a web (and file!) server. I'll be purchasing a domain name and setting it all up etc. When I finish that this site shall be well updating and everything.
Secondly its time to pimp stuff!

Woot! My sister arrives tomorrow and I haven't seen her in a few months.. Sooo we're gonna go shopping and stuff and I'll show her around and everything.

Last night was a bit of a festival... Called "First Light" and that's when the state officially recognizes that its almost Christmas and so they turn on all the lights on the trees and so on. There was a parade too! It wasn't too bad.. Lots of marching bands and floats and stuff... Pretty cool stuff and yet some really stupid stuff too. I'd also like to point out that some of the high school marching bands were very slack in their work. Not marching in complete sync is forgivable for young teens who don't get much direction from poor teachers, but not marching at all while the teachers (who were leading and so on) would march their hearts out... Its just sad. Anyhooz other than the odd one or two stupid schools the rest were brilliant! I always like watching a marching band (and no not for the very beautiful high school girls in their twirly uniforms and batons :P... well not JUST for that). Other mentionable floats and things were the police emergency mobile headquarters (very impressive as well as the lights on it and christmasy things) and also the senior citz/war vets scotish marching band... I was very impressed and cheered loudly for them.

All in all it was a good parade and although I missed a full hour of it, because the car I was in got pulled over by the police for a warrant of fitness failure, it was a good night.

Other news? Well I've been posting a lot of my old drawings and artwork stuff on deviant art again... I think it's about time I started dedicating myself to something I enjoy so art it is :). I also have a few friends who post on www.deviantart.com as well and I'll post their links at the end of this news post.

On the 16th of December I'll be catching a flight out to California to see the other half of my family for the first time in about 7 or so years... I'm looking forward to seeing them :) I also plan to meet up with my friend Ostego and getting happily drunk with him and my cousins :D. I'll be back in Hawaii on the 9th of January unless I find a nice job over there.

OK new post!!!

First thing? I NOW HAVE LEET CABLE! (2mb uncapped) for only $35 a month. People back in NZ would love to have this sorta connection for that cheap and even then they wouldn't be able to get it uncapped. I am so cool that not even the 80's could catch me!

So on to other things... I had promised somebody that I'd update my site again so here ya go!

New stuff I've been up to? well I'm still in Hawaii (or Hawai'i for those who give can't leave the punctuation alone) and I've moved into a one bedr0om apartment! Indeed I have :D
Its a nice place with more of a sense of a neighbourhood... My old place was just this tall building that used to be a hotel and so the rooms were crap. 4 rooms per level and so not much chance of really bumping into people unless it was in the elevator. My new place is much cooler PLUS its cheaper. Now ponder this folks... how can a studio apartment cost $900 a month and yet a one bedroom place RIGHT BEHIND IT costs me only $725 a month? Quite a find i must admit. Oh well the housing cost in Waikiki is incredibly stupidly high.

On other news i've been watching insane amounts of anime recently... 10 episodes or so of Naruto that I needed to catch up on, few episodes of Narutaru that I wish I hadn't watched (insane cartoon... really it is), and i've just recently introduced myself to the wonder of Love Hina (both manga and anime). Yes indeed I'm a comic book freak :P

Hmm lets see what else I've been up to... oh yes! Star Wars Galaxies. One of the best games to have ever been invented! Yup, I've been playing it a lot... leveling up and so on in the search for Jedi stuff! So far i haven't exactly found much but I'm still trying... I keep dying though and it costs everytime i clone. All those who play this game and want to meet up with me I'm on corbantis and currently hunting Exar Kun followers on Dantooine. Them buggers keep on killing me and its a long run to get back there.
Later on i'll be posting interesting waypoints to places to see and so on! So check back again soon!

OK here's the latest news! I'M IN HAWAII! yes indeed folks I've moved to Hawaii. So long cold weather! HELLO HOT BEACHES AND HOT GIRLS! goodbye to the land of the long white moron and hello to the land of the fat and stupid. I guess I had to trade one deformity for another but I'm learning to cope. Now some of you who just happen to be of American origin like myself might think, "Who the fuck is this guy?! Coming in here and insulting out beloved country with the truth?". well folks, I, Alex, am a United States citizen and as such I can say whatever the hell I want about this country. I've been here no longer than a month and a half and every day I see homeless idiots, hookers, drug dealers, clinically insane fools, and Jesus freaks just on the way down the road to check my email at the local internet cafe. AND every other person is a beached whale. so I have every right to say what the hell I want.

the hunt for a job is still underway... so far the place is turning out like Wellington... lots of opportunity but little availability. I signed up for a job as a computer technician which involved building a computer from scratch, *cough* simple *cough*, then ghosting the hdd from a preset image, then adding any extra files and programs needed and THEN disassembling the whole machine and then packing it all back up and sending it to the shipping people who send the damn thing over to various military bases throughout the island. this is a job that I feel I can do easy as pie, (the eating of), so I went to the opening seminar thingy and sat though this guy talk about the job and take questions and so on, which was really interesting anyways but the people there asked some pretty stupid questions and the main guy explained that we needed to sit a secret security clearance test thing and so on and that was all cool... except I don't have a net connection at home so I am pretty unable to download this testing program WHICH SCREWS ME OVER FOR THIS JOB as I need the security clearance. so I look at this here job description thingy he gives me and it says that they are in need of web/graphics designers. BINGO! that is exactly what I am (as you can see by this here website I didz0r even though its a bad example :P) so I hand him my CV and head out the door to walk back home (oh did I mention that I was late for the meeting thing because I  had to walk and I wasn't sure where the hell it was? oh well). on the way I talked to this guy called David and he was pretty cool... moved over here from the mainland and decided to stay (and he was heaps taller than me and I was scared! haha just kidding) so yeah I talked to him until we got to Ala Moana shopping center and I said to him "yo dude! imma go grab me some eats" so said bye to him and headed off to teh mall! and now AT TEH MALL I checked my supplier of manga (I'll compile a list of titles I have later on) and saw they had nothing new that I wanted and blah blah... grabbed a drink and headed off home! HUZZA!

so yeah that was one of my interviews. I also applied for a job at the Honolulu Police Department as a dispatch officer but they said I didn't have enough experience or something... I applied for jobs at CompUSA but my dad kind of pissed them off :P but that was ok I didn't care cos they hadn't even called me up to say what had gone on with my application so screw them. I've applied at OfficeMax and 2 internet cafe's and still nothing from them... I'm gonna go down to subway and apply there even cos I like thems subs! :D so I'll be doing that as of tomorrow.

other news? well I've met a whole bunch of people here that are really cool and I enjoy talking and hanging out with them and all that... a girl called "Precious" (yes that's really her name) who is 10 and her cousin Elena who is 2 and a half and I kind of baby-sit them for their grandmother who they live with and they're two of the most energetic freaks I've ever known save Bobby-Chan who is the son of one of my neighbors and he's nuts... nuts like an atomic bomb exploding... he's got infinite amounts of energy streaming out of him and its sometimes hard to keep up! anyhow I look after these 3 kids when they come down to the pool (where I usually am after spending the morning looking for work and getting applications and so on) and their parents/grandparents wish for some peace and quiet :P this is all cool with me because just swimming after these kids keeps me fit so I'm getting skinny again! HA HA!

hmm and to finish this up... I've been browsing the Jigro forums once in a while when I go check my email down the road and strange things have been going on indeed!

I've also created a few more websites in my absence of updating this site. I really need to make a portfolio website but I haven't the time just now. Anyway they are as follows:

A website devoted to the lifestyle farming Field Day which is in Otaki on the 28th of May. This is the first site I ever tried to use Flash in. Please notice the sounds as you move your mouse over the links as that took me at least 15 hours to figure out.

www.amberjay.com

Amberjay. The very first famous entertainer website I've ever done. I'm quite proud of it too. Also this site is always being updated so check it often if you're interested in live shows and musicals and so on. (And soon I'll be adding some audio clips for you to listen to).

All I did on this site was make some pretty graphics. The rest is all Ben's doing.

Those are the main ones I've created. I had also helped some friends with their websites but I'm leaving all the credit to them.

As I'm sure you have all noticed (those that view this website) I have stopped trimming my posts on the front page and displaying the full post in the news section. Reasons for this? Well it was getting tiring having to manually update the front page and then the news page. Some of you will know that a new version of this site has been built and is requiring FREE (and I stress that point highly... FREE) webhosting. As of yet we haven't been able to acquire that but we're still trying. This new version incorporates PHP (and or ASP) programming and server-side scripting to enable writers to login and update their posts etc. The website is almost completely functional but Chris and I haven't really updated it since some time last year. I'll pester him some more but I don't think anything will come of it just yet. Also note that a lot of the Art and Tech Work images and info is no longer available. I have had to take down a lot of it for room to temporarily host projects to show my clients their site. Soon I shall be giving this site a complete overhaul and it'll become a decent webdesign service.

OK this sure has been a rather large post and I'll be sure to update again soon with any new information and news.
